Karen Oprych

Great Ormond Street Hospital, London

Dr. Karen Oprych is a Senior Project Manager in the Gene Therapy Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She is currently leading an ambitious project within the Cell and Gene Therapy Service (C&GTS) to establish a not-for-profit economic model of manufacture and supply to improve patient access to ATMPs developed in academia for rare diseases at GOSH. She obtained her PhD in 2010 and completed postdoctoral research at UCL in cellular therapies for nervous system repair. Her interests are in the quality and regulation of advanced therapies, and has previously worked in various GXP roles including 3 years in GMP Quality Assurance overseeing the manufacture of ATMPs and 2 years in GCP clinical trial management.
