Luis Alvarez-Vallina
Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Madrid
LAV (MD, PhD) studied medicine, specializing in immunology, and obtained his doctorate at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the MRC (Cambridge, UK) as part of the MSCA program, working with R. Hawkins and Nobel Laureate
G. Winter, and contributed to the first CARs with CD28 costimulatory domains. He is currently Research Director at Banc de Sang i Teixits (Barcelona) and Head of the CNIO-HMRIB Cancer Immunotherapy Clinical Research Unit, Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), Hospital del Mar Research Institute Barcelona (HMRIB).
