Dr. Zabaleta is a researcher at CIMA Universidad de Navarra and the main focus of her research is the generation of novel gene delivery vehicles to enable the development of advanced therapies for inherited and infectious diseases. She is particularly interested in engineering the AAV capsid to improve the gene delivery to tissues that are not easily transduced by existing AAVs, such as the kidney, the Schwann cells or the dendritic cells.
