GET-IN

GET‑IN (the GEne Therapy INnovation Training Network) is a Horizon Europe-funded MSCA doctoral training program (grant agreement no. 101119880) designed to bridge critical gaps in gene therapy development. By optimizing scalable up‑stream and down‑stream processes, GET‑IN advances biomanufacturing standards and enhances production efficiency through innovative bioengineering practices. The network is committed to discovering and validating novel, safe, and broadly applicable gene‑editing tools while integrating cutting-edge delivery technologies and organ-on-chip platforms for efficacy and toxicity testing.

At the core of GET‑IN are ten interconnected PhD projects embedded in three multidisciplinary work packages. This collaborative structure fosters cross‑sectoral innovation by combining academic excellence with industry insights. Doctoral researchers gain hands-on experience in quality‑by‑design manufacturing, computational process modeling, CRISPR genome editing, and humanized organ-on-chip systems. Industrial internships and bespoke training modules help prepare them for leadership roles in the global ATMP field.

By uniting a network of academic, clinical, and industrial experts, GET‑IN ensures rapid translation of research into real-world applications. Through rigorous training, technology transfer, and standardization efforts, GET‑IN supports ESGCT’s mission to accelerate the safe and effective delivery of genetic medicines, helping to transform patient care.
