Dr. Marta M Alonso is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University Clinic of Navarra and Center of Applied Medical Research. Her lab focuses on developing biological therapies, specifically oncolytic adenovirus for pediatric solid tumors, by integrating clinical and lab-based research. Her team has devoted significant efforts to developing models that recapitulate the phenotype of aggressive pediatric brain tumors, including DIPGs, AT/RTs, or PNETs. She has published extensively in the field of neurooncology, and her team pioneered a trial utilizing the virus Delta-24-RGD for diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, an incurable pediatric brain tumor, with encouraging results.
