Li-An Brown is an infectious diseases and microbiology doctor and clinical research fellow at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. She studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and UCL. Dr Brown is based in the Breuer virology research group whose work led to the discovery of AAV2 as the cause of a paediatric hepatitis outbreak affecting more than 1000 children worldwide in 2022. Her research is in the pathogenesis of hepatitis associated with AAV viruses and vectors.
