Monika Gladka

Monika Gladka is an Associate Professor and Principal Investigator at the University Medical Center in Amsterdam. Her current research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate cardiac repair to identify novel targets for developing advanced treatments. Leveraging cutting-edge techniques, she delves into the intricate biological processes of diseased hearts. Her work employs experimental disease modeling and explores gene therapies for inherited and acquired heart conditions. She is actively involved in several cardiac societies. She serves as a member of the Working Group on Cardiovascular Regenerative and Reparative Medicine (CARE) within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and as a council member of the European Section of the International Society of Heart Research (ISHR). Additionally, she holds editorial roles, including Associate Editor for the Journal of Molecular Therapy, and member of the editorial boards for Physiological Reviews and Circulation Research.
