Walter Marcotti
University of Sheffield
Walter Marcotti is Professor of Sensory Neuroscience in the School of Biosciences and Co-Director of the cross-faculty Neuroscience Institute at the University of Sheffield. He leads a multidisciplinary research program dedicated to unraveling the cellular and molecular basis of auditory development and sound processing. A central part of his work is focused on understanding how genetic defects lead to hearing loss and developing gene-based therapies to prevent or treat various forms of hearing deficiency.
