Dr. Sotillo has a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Navarra, Spain. In 2013 she joined the Stand Up to Cancer-St. Baldrick’s Pediatric Dream Team while at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, shifting her research interest towards understanding the molecular mechanisms of resistance to CAR T cell therapy. Since 2016, she leads the laboratory of Dr. Crystal Mackall, at Stanford University, supervising and mentoring a multidisciplinary scientific team focused on developing the next generation of cellular therapies to treat pediatric cancers.
