Dr. Els Verhoeyen is a research director at the institute for health and medical research (INSERM) with a dual affiliation: the international center for infectiology research (CIRI) in Lyon and the mediterranean molecular medical research center (C3M) in Nice (France). Her research is focused on the development of novel lentiviral vectors and gene editing tools for ex vivo and in vivo gene therapy. She is also the past-president of the SFTCG and is in 2022 elected as board member of ESCGT.
